Alabama Veteran exists to empower and uplift our veteran community and their families across the state.
We stand ready to guide every veteran in Alabama with access and direction to a wide range of resources so they can connect with other Veterans, engage in meaningful volunteer activities, and successfully navigate their next mission: civilian life.

Board of Directors
The people who show up every day to make sure Alabama's veterans are never left behind.
A founding board member since 2017, Chris comes from a family of veterans and has spent over two decades specializing in VA home loans. He leads Alabama Veteran with a personal mission rooted in honor, service, and the belief that no veteran should navigate civilian life alone.
A three-time bestselling author and nationally recognized keynote speaker, Elroy served 23 years in the Air Force — from F-15C and the Thunderbirds to DARPA and the Pentagon, with combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is a passionate advocate for veteran mental health.
An insurance and operations professional with a background in claims, Jesse is a Navy Seabee veteran who continues to serve in the Naval Reserves. He brings operational discipline and a ground-level veteran perspective to everything the organization does.
An Air Force veteran and attorney specializing in business litigation and healthcare advisory services, Dylan has served as a senior health policy analyst in Washington, D.C. He also serves on the board of Dovetail Landing, supporting behavioral health services for veterans and their families.
Mike served nearly 40 years in the Alabama Army National Guard, retiring as Command Sergeant Major — the highest enlisted rank in the U.S. Armed Forces. Elected Mayor of Centreville in 2020, his career spans military service, journalism, education, and public service at every level of Alabama government.
Danny grew up in Roanoke, Alabama and attended Auburn University through the ROTC program before serving in the United States Army. His military service shaped the discipline and leadership that define his 30-year career in financial services. He founded The Noles Group in 2016, focusing on retirement and financial planning across Alabama. A supporter of Alabama Veteran since day one in 2016, Danny has served on the board for three years and brings a deep commitment to veterans and community to the table.
Matt is a U.S. Army and Alabama Army National Guard veteran who serves on the Board of Directors and as a Warrior Retreat Cadre. Born and raised in Decatur, Alabama, he served 13 years in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, with deployments to Iraq and Colombia, before continuing to support the warfighter as an Army civilian contractor specializing in simulation programs and UAS training. Honored by Alabama Veteran in 2017, he helped develop, implement, and grow the Warrior Retreat program so veterans have space to reconnect, heal, and build relationships through Post Traumatic Growth. The program has expanded to include retreats for couples and female veterans. As a board member he fosters collaboration among veteran organizations so no veteran faces their struggles alone. He leads with a simple mission: to create spaces where veterans can find strength, connection, and purpose — together.
